The Maine Board of Examiners of Psychologists “was established to assure the citizens of the State of Maine the highest standards of practice of psychology.” Furthermore, they described that the “primary responsibilities” and purpose of the Board are to:

  1. conduct examinations of candidates for licensure to practice psychology
  2. verify credentials of applicants
  3. license and renew upon documentation of continuing education activities
  4. conduct hearings and investigations upon receipt of complaints pertaining to psychology
